I think there are a few things we can all agree on. One…it has been an emotionally charged year…I think retail therapy is in order! And two…no matter what is going on in the universe, it is always a good idea to support your local economy…by buying from local small businesses. No matter what the media tells you, every day should be small business day! And what could be a smaller business than an individual!
That’s why my favorite area for “shopping small” is Spanish Village Art Center, in Balboa Park. Spanish Village Art Center is the epitome of “American Made”. Not only is everything locally made…you can watch it BEING made!
There is a certain energy that comes from a handcrafted piece…a POSITIVE energy. Maybe it’s the love the artist has for each creation that continues on…try getting that from hugging your big screen TV! And “art” doesn’t come with a limited warranty! It can be enjoyed for generations! So this season…and all year long…make every day a day to “Shop Small”. Support your neighbors…support art…support local artists! “Shop Small” in Spanish Village Art Center!
And those of you who will be in San Diego on December 2-3…come to the biggest celebration of the year…DECEMBER NIGHTS in Balboa Park! Spanish Village Art Center will be open 11am – 11pm both days (and nights!) That means we’re “partying” before the rest of the park…come early…get a parking place! That’s 12 full hours of retail therapy, glorious decorations and lights, live entertainment, yummy food, warm drinks to take the chill off…and even Santa Claus! Take time to watch the artists creating, share a smile with your “neighbors”…and just feel good about being in San Diego!!
Thanks for Listening!
